New! Consulting and training for the jewelry industry. Nevada Technical Associates has recently become aware of the need for training and consulting in the jewelry industry, especially as it relates to blue topaz. Apparently, the NRC intends to enforce government requirements that have been essentially ignored by both the government and the NRC in recent years. More information on this issue can be found at this link. We are now offering a complete package of consulting and training for the jewelry industry that includes writing license applications and radiation safety procedures as well as Radiation Safety Officer training. In recent years we have had contracts for onsite training or consulting with The Boeing Company, Florida Power and Light, Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, The Idaho National Laboratory, Oak Ridge National Laboratory, Westinghouse (Carlsbad, New Mexico at Waste Isolation Pilot Plant), the Panama Canal Authority, the Environmental Protection Agency and the states of New Mexico, South Carolina and California.
We can provide assistance in the areas of licensing, improvement audits, writing of safety plans, shielding and radiochemistry, All of our consultants on health physics topics are Certified Health Physicists with very substantial experience, usually at least 20 years in the field.
Nevada Technical Associates, Inc., was formed in 1994. The President is Dr. Robert Holloway, formerly employed by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. He has over 25 years experience in radiochemistry, environmental monitoring, and radiation safety training. The company also employs several instructors and consultants. Our instructors are well qualified and are Certified Health Physicists or have an advanced degree in an appropriate specialty. The President of Nevada Technical Associates also has a minority ownership interest in Nuclear Technology Services, Inc., a full service radiological laboratory located in Roswell, Georgia. This laboratory provides analytical services such as radiochemical analysis of environmental and bioassay samples for uranium, thorium, radium and many other radionuclides. The laboratory also performs a variety of services related to calibration of radiation monitoring equipment and also manufactures BOMAB phantoms. Some of our short courses are held at the facility of Nuclear Technology Services, near Atlanta.
We also produce and sell videos on radiation safety and related topics. As of the spring of 2007, we have 11 video titles available in DVD or VHS format. We expect to add 5 more titles by September of 2007.
