This new RCRA video "Hazardous Waste Management for Generators" assists facilities in complying with the government RCRA requirements in the management and disposal of hazardous waste. This comprehensive video explains how to identify hazardous waste, according to the government standards and how to store and dispose of hazardous waste. The video explains the origin and development of the federal laws regulating hazarous waste and also what hazardous waste generators need to do in order to comply with federal law. This video can also be used in partial fullfilment of the training requirements required by federal RCRA regulations. In 1976, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) issued the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) to regulate the handling of hazardous waste "from cradle to grave".
An outline of the contents of this video is available here.
This video is a complete explanatory program on what generators of hazardous waste need to do to comply with RCRA requirements. Note: This video is not a part of the initial or refresher OSHA HAZWOPER training. This video concentrates on RCRA requirements rather than HAZWOPER training.
OSHA feels that it is so important for employees to know how to recognize these potentially dangerous substances (as well as how to handle and dispose of them properly) they have mandated that anyone working with these substances receive comprehensive training in this area.
